Loans, Cancel or Reduce
Students may cancel or reduce an already accepted Direct Stafford or Grad Plus loan on their student portal. Federal Parent Plus Loans may only be reduced or canceled by the parent borrower. Currently enrolled students may cancel or reduce their loans at any time during the academic year
Students may enter the new amount in the space provided next to each loan that they would like to adjust. Students seeking to cancel the loan altogether, must indicate their intent in the COMMENTS section at the bottom of the form.
Loan reduction /cancellation requests are processed within 3-5 business days.
