Subject:
Project underway to widen sidewalk along Nebraska Ave.

We wanted to make our community aware that the DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) began work last Friday to widen the sidewalk on the main campus side of the street, along Nebraska Ave. While work is in progress, the sidewalk from Ward Circle to the corner of New Mexico Ave, NW. will be closed for pedestrians.

Over the next few weeks, the crosswalk from Main Campus behind Hurst Hall to East Campus will be blocked to allow for the work to be done. However, the crosswalks at Wards Circle (Kerwin Hall) and from SIS to East Campus will remain open to allow for pedestrian access.

Part of a long-planned DDOT project, this latest widening of the sidewalk is a continuation of work completed from Van Ness St., NW to Ward Circle.

We have been informed that this work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

Thank you.  Â
