Carl Anthon Collection

Carl Anthon was a professor of history at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ from 1961 until 1976. His research related to the Renaissance and Reformation with a special focus on Erasmus. Carl Anthon began collecting rare books in the late 1940s while he was living in Germany. The Anthon Collection features works on history, literature, philosophy, and religion from the 16th through the 19th centuries including texts by Aristotle, Boccaccio, Cicero, Josephus, Suetonius, Tacitus, and Martin Luther.
