- Dr. Marnel Niles Goins earned her Ph.D. from Howard University in Washington, DC. Prior to her transition to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, she was Dean of the College of Sciences and Humanities at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. She previously served as Professor of Communication at California State University, Fresno for 12 years. She taught courses in Small Group Communication and Organizational Communication and has a special interest in gender and racial dynamics in organizational settings. Marnel has numerous publications, including serving as first editor of The Routledge Handbook of Gender and Communication. She is President of the National Communication Association and a past president of the Western States Communication Association and the Organization for Research on Women and Communication.
