Bio
Roshan Abraham (he/him/his) holds a PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to his current position at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, Roshan was an Assistant Professor of Classics and Religious Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

Throughout his career in the academy, Roshan has always been most passionate about working with undergraduates, whether as an instructor, a mentor, or an advisor, which made for a natural transition into his current position. Roshan believes that the university is always better when students are empowered and use their collective voices to demand more and better from the institution.

As an academic, Roshan's primary areas of teaching and research are in the religions of Greco-Roman antiquity, including ancient magic, early Christianity, and late ancient religions. Roshan also has a secondary interest in Religion and Comics and has recently edited DC Comics and Theology, a book forthcoming from Lexington Press in July, 2023.

During his career, he has taught Greek and Latin at all levels, introductory-level religion courses, New Testament and Early Christianity, Magic in the Ancient World, Theory and Method in the Study of Religion, and Religion and Comics.

Outside of the academy, Roshan is committed to social justice work and has led community organizing efforts in his current home of Arlington, VA and Northern Virginia more broadly.
