Black Affinity Housing is a live-in theme program located inÌýRoper Hall. All Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ undergraduate students who reside in the Black Affinity Housing help foster a warm and vibrant community supporting social, personal, and academic success. The community is open to all undergraduate students.
What to Expect
Residents in Black Affinity Housing are strongly encouraged to participate in periodic community programming and dialogues intended to build community, promote learning, and support wellness. Roper Hall staff will organize opportunities for residents to attend cultural events and general university programs as a group. Students will gain leadership skills, learn to better understand one another, form friendships that can last a lifetime, and have fun.

Roper Hall has a traditional residence hall design with fully furnished double and triple occupancy rooms and shared bathrooms. The building has a central lounge space with a kitchen, lounge furniture, and television for students to study or socialize with their community.ÌýThe building also has a laundry room.
Decorative and additional items can be purchased from the HRL coordinated vendors through ourÌýPersonalize Your Room webpage. ÌýEach room will include the furniture noted on this webpage.
In-hall staff include resident assistants (RAs) and community directorÌý(CD). Roper'sÌýRAs live on each floor, acting as peer educators and helping residents transition to university life and connect to their community. The Roper community has oneÌýCD, a professional staff memberÌýwho supervises RAs to foster a living-learning environment to bridge the academic and residential experience.
