November 14, 2023

Dear Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Community,

We are writing with a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, November 15, we will offer spaces to gather in guided reflection in locations across campus and online. We have expanded access and viewing for this opportunity.

From 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., we will hold centering spaces for community members in several locations on campus and our affiliated buildings. During this time, a guided reflection on personal self-care and sense of belonging will be offered by the University Chaplain from the Kay Spiritual Life Center and shared in the gathering spaces via livestream. The centering moment will be an open experience for persons of all beliefs. All spaces available on campus and in our facilities include:

  • Kay Spiritual Life Center – Chapel
  • Washington College of Law – Yuma Building Room 112
  • Spring Valley Building – Room 100
  • 4401 Connecticut Avenue – Lower-Level Community Room

For greater access, a livestream will also be available on the Kay Spiritual Life Center webpage. A recording of the event will be shared on the webpage afterward and remain accessible for approximately one week.

The gathering is not intended to address all the significant challenges faced in the world and in our community. The goal is to provide community members space and opportunity for their own reflection and support as we all navigate these difficult times. It is another aspect of the support available to community members.

Following Wednesday’s gathering, additional opportunities for supported introspection will also be made available through Kay Spiritual Life Center in the coming weeks.

Sincerely,

Rev. Bryant M. Oskvig
University Chaplain
