Where the World Meets to Study Law
International and comparative law has long been central to the educational mandate of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law, and the cutting-edge international legal programs and degree offerings have been consistently ranked among some of the most prestigious in the United States. These programs encompass a wide variety of legal disciplines, including international commercial arbitration, international business and trade, human rights law, intellectual property law, and more. The diverse academic and programmatic offerings at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵWCL incorporate a rich array of international law courses and seminars, experiential learning, and special events that allow students to interact and network with esteemed faculty, international attorneys, diplomats, business leaders, and policymakers.
26th Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵWCL Sponsored Grotius Lecture
On April 3, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵWCL sponsored the 26th annual Grotius Lecture featuring Dame Meg Taylor, focusing on sovereignty and unity for Pacific Island nations amidst the climate crisis. The discussant, Julian Aguon emphasized the role of younger generations in asserting the Blue Pacific identity and advocating for justice, referencing Vanuatu's ICJ advisory request on climate crisis obligations.
