PIJIIP Faculty Director Christine Farley, Director Sean Flynn and Counsel Andres Izqueirdo attended the negotiation and adoption of the November 11-22. PIJIP provided technical assistance to a group of like minded countries coordinated by the Delegation of Indonesia and including members of the African, Asia Pacific, and Latin American and Caribbean groups of countries. PIJIP’s team was assisted by Professor Thomas Margoni at the Faculty of Law and Criminology, KU Leuven, and Margo Bagley, Professor of Law at Emory Law School and an advisor to the African Union.ÌýÌý

The Design Law Treaty is intended to streamline and standardize procedures for protecting industrial designs. PIJIP provided comparative and international law analysis to delegations negotiating the treaty, including through a workshop of experts held at the Diplomatic Conference’s venue.Ìý
