CLEAR Associate
Position Description
The Center for Language Exploration, Acquisition, and Research (CLEAR) supports the work done by the faculty in the department of World Languages and Cultures at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ by hosting staff and resources to enhance the language courses offered on campus and to facilitate Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students’ language learning experience overall. The Center provides language coaching, administers language assessments, advances professional development, hosts cultural events, and curates a growing collection of language-related resources.

We are looking for dynamic Associates to join the CLEAR team. The people in this position help Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Students currently enrolled in a World Languages course at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ to develop their world languages skills.
Requirements
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Previous experience with customer service is highly desired.
What You Will Do
- Bring your energy and passion to executing CLEAR’s mission.
- Greet all students and visitors.
- Maintain inventory, and ensure items are in good working order.
- Assist in hosting of events.
- Complete required training.
- Work as part of a team: collaborate and help your teammates when needed.
- Assist with general tasks as needed.
- Work short shifts: Most shifts are 2 hours (max) per day, with weekly commitments set between 6 to 8 hours per week. Some Sunday hours may be required.
CLEAR Language Coach
Position Description
The Center for Language Exploration, Acquisition, and Research (CLEAR) supports the work done by the faculty in the department of World Languages and Cultures at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ by hosting staff and resources to enhance the language courses offered on campus and to facilitate Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students’ language learning experience overall.
CLEAR is the perfect place for you to share your language and culture with other students at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and to embrace different cultures throughout the Academic Year. One of CLEAR’s most sought after resources is its language coaching team: It is made up of native speakers of all the languages taught on campus. Depending on the number of students taking any one language on a given semester, individual language coaching teams can contain as many as 5 people or as few as 1 person.

We are looking for dynamic Language Coaches to join the CLEAR team. The people in this position help Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Students currently enrolled in a World Languages course at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ to develop their world languages skills.
Requirements
- Be a native or highly fluent speaker of the language you intend to coach: Familiarity with grammar structure and vocabulary and the ability to communicate this knowledge to others is necessary. Candidates will be tested to assess their grammatical, oral and writing skills in the target language and must be vetted by faculty in their intended language program.
- Previous experience with teaching and/or training is highly desired.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
What You Will Do
- Bring your energy and passion to the target language you coach.
- Complete required training sessions.
- Continue to sharpen your knowledge in teaching your language
- Work as part of a team: collaborate and help your teammates when needed.
- Present one proposal for your language for a languagerelated cultural event each semester.
- Assist with general tasks as needed when not coaching.
- Work short shifts: Most shifts are 2 hours (max) per day, with weekly commitments set between 6 to 8 hours per week. Some Sunday hours may be required.
