Programs Overview

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers students the opportunity to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees through its combined bachelor's/master's programs, which typically take five years to complete.

  • Undergraduate majors in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics can qualify for any of the department’s master’s degrees. See the program pages for details on the degrees.
  • Undergraduate majors in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics may qualify for other Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ master’s degrees.
  • Similarly, undergraduate majors in other departments may qualify for the department’s master’s degrees, especially if they have been pursuing a minor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
  • Interested students should consult with their advisor in their first or second year to discuss course selection and timing.
  • Interested students should apply no later than the end of their junior year and can be admitted after they have completed all requirements for their undergraduate degree.
Bachelor's/Master's Degree Combinations: BS Data Science, BS Applied Mathematics, BS Mathematics, BS Math and Econ, and BS Statistics combine with MS Data Science. BS Data Science, BS Applied Mathematics, BS Mathematics, BS Math and Econ, BS Statistics, and BA or BS Public Health combine with MS Statistics.

Requirements for combined bachelor's/master's degrees in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics:

  • Undergraduate students may apply up to 9 credit hours of approved graduate-level course work to satisfy the requirements of both degrees.
  • Students must complete at least 18 in-residence credit hours at the graduate level after the bachelor's degree is earned.
