Institutional Partnerships

SOC has partnered with a number of institutions to provide opportunities for their students to take advantage of SOC offerings.

UTEP’s Department of Communication student applicants with GPA of 3.0 or better may apply to ĢƵ’s School of Communication in their senior year and will be eligible for merit award funding up to $15,000 based on academic and professional background and experience.

ĢƵ will waive the $55 application fee.

WFU’s Department of Communication student applicants with GPA of 3.0 or better may apply to ĢƵ’s School of Communication in their senior year and will be eligible for merit award funding up to $15,000 based on academic and professional background and experience.

GU’s Department of Art, Communication and Theater student applicants with GPA of 3.0 or better may apply to ĢƵ’s School of Communication in their senior year and will be eligible for merit award funding up to $15,000 based on academic and professional background and experience.

Admitted students may take up to two 3-credit GU undergraduate courses, ART 224 Digital Media II and/or ART 390 Web Design II, and receive a course substitution for ĢƵ SOC’s COMM 602 Digital Media Literacy and Skills and/or COMM 603 Web Development. In order to receive the course substitutions, a grade of “B” or better is required in GU’s ART 3442 and ART 390 courses. If students receive course substitutions, they will select two 3-credit electives to fulfill program credit requirements at ĢƵ.

Full-time Washington Post employees, spouses or dependents admitted to any graduate degree program at SOC, including online, are eligible for $10,000 in merit award funding over the course of the program.

US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) employees participating in the ĢƵ partnership can register for graduate courses in the School of Communication as a non-degree or degree seeking student. SOC’s graduate degree programs are ideal for individuals looking to advance their career with more specialized training or those looking to master a new subject for a career change.

HHS employees have the opportunity to attend SOC at a discounted rate, with 20% off the regular tuition cost. This discount is only for HHS employees and their spouses.
